My name is Kylie. I'm studying International Business at IUP (Originally it was French Ed, but I have since changed that.) I am also studying for a minor in French and in Asian Studies.

And I'm strange.

You'll find a lot of nintendo, and xbox related stuff here, as well as a lot of other random things. There's no real theme.

I'm a bit of a fangirl sometimes. So basically I go through stages. My tumblr is kinda schizophrenic that way...

Theme Design

Wait a second… Why are you getting all serious? HALO IS JUST A GAME.

OK. So I’m playing halo reach you know. And there’s two things you gotta know before I get into this story. 1) Not to toot my own horn, but I’m not a bad player. I mean yeah, everyone has bad games, but I normally score around 18 kills a game. I think the most I’ve killed was 27 (which I actually did tonight, and I got a killtacular… Must have been a fluke, but this is important later in the story.) 2) I talk A LOT when I play halo. I mean I’m probably one of those players you want to mute. Although, It’s not that I say nonsense or something, I just like conversation while I play. Sometimes I do get out of hand…. but that’s why there’s a mute button.

So anyway. I just got out of the game where I killed 27 (but I did die 10 times… soooo it’s still kinda average), and I was pretty excited cause that was one of my best games (it was swat btw, which is the only thing I play). And then I started to ramble a bit, though I still did my teammate duties of giving people a heads up and location on the other team. Then our forth teammate (I say ours, because I was in a party of three) plugs in a mike, and starts making fun of me. I kinda was just like, whatever, he’s kinda right I’m annoying. BUT he doesn’t stop there. He continues to say that he has the most kills and that we’re (my party) worthless. He said that we shouldn’t play halo and that he didn’t even need us. Add a few unnecessary f-bombs in there of course.

SOOOOO… I know I shouldn’t have instigated it, and normally I don’t I just mute the player and move on.  But I didn’t do that this time. I said “Dude, it’s a GAME.” 

He replied with “That’s true but if you aren’t playing to win then you shouldn’t play at all.”

Then me and my teammates proceeded to leave the game and submit bad player reviews. 

But here’s the question: Why do you always have to win? Why can’t I just play because I like the game? If you’re really serious, go join a clan or whatever and find people who are just as serious as you are about it. Don’t bad mouth people and be positively rude. I mean…. is common courtesy dead? I mean I know I talk a lot but all you really have to say is hey less talking please or you could just mute me. But most of the time I do pretty well I guess so people tend to just put up with me… plus I guess my ramblings can get pretty amusing.

Look, I get that you don’t like to lose, but you can’t win them all. So why be a jerk about it and ruin the game for everyone? And frankly, I don’t play halo 24/7, because it’s a GAME. I can’t put on my resume: I have mad Halo skills. I play for fun, because it’s a game, it’s something I like to do and if I’m not scoring enough points for you I’m sorry I guess, but get a life. The world does not revolve around whether you win or lose in Halo. 

I hope you just had a bad day and aren’t like that to everyone all the time, especially not to people in real life. If you are, you’re going to be one lonely person.
